Questions?
Let's Take a Look.

Sunrise is designed to be simple and fast. Here are answers to common questions about how it works, what it solves, pricing, and security.

How Does Sunrise Help Teachers?

How is Sunrise Different from using ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini on my own?

General purpose chatbots are great at generating ideas. Sunrise is designed to help you grow as a teacher. Over time, teachers who use Sunrise become more intentional in their planning, clearer in their instructional decisions, and more confident in professional conversations. Instead of guessing whether a lesson will land, you learn how to analyze it, strengthen it, and explain your reasoning. Sunrise builds your ability to reflect, refine, and improve. Not just produce faster content. The goal isn’t better prompts. It’s stronger instructional judgment.

How do I use Sunrise to save time?

Sunrise helps you focus on what matters most before you teach.

Instead of revising a lesson after it falls flat, you can quickly review it in Sunrise to spot gaps, unclear directions, or weak alignment. It highlights what needs attention so you’re not guessing or over-editing.

Many teachers spend just 5–10 minutes reviewing a lesson and adjusting early, which often means fewer reteaches, fewer behavior issues, and fewer last-minute fixes.

It’s not extra work. It’s smarter preparation that saves time later.

Who is Sunrise designed for?

Sunrise is particularly helpful for new teaches who are looking to gain the confindence to start each day ready to deliver high quality instruction. It is also valuable for experienced teachers looking to refine their practice. Sunrise supports mentors and induction practice. Not student-facing.

How does Sunrise actually help me day-to-day?

Sunrise can help analyze tomorrow's lesson, suggest improvements aligned to content standards, gives feedback before you teach, and acts as a thought partner that is always available, infinitely patient, and non-judgemental.

Does Sunrise evaluate me?

No. Sunrise is a support tool, not an evaluation system. It does not score you, rank you, or send reports to administrators. Your work remains private unless you choose to share it with a mentor or coach. Sunrise is designed to help you reflect, refine your lessons, and prepare for professional conversations, not to judge your performance.

How Do I Use Sunrise?

Where do I start after logging in?

Once logged in you can either go directly to the voice coach and start asking it questions or upload a lesson for analysis.

What does voice coach do?

Voice coach is designed to be your personal thought partner. Ask it for advice on unit planning, lesson planning, structuring resorative conversations with students, having critical conversations with adults, or advice when emailing parents. You can share interactions from voice coach transcripts with your mentor to discuss later and to highlight professional growth.

How do I analyze tomorrow's lesson?

Once you log into Lesson Optimizer you can select lesson analysis. There you will be prompted to upload a lesson from your computer or Google Drive. Next you will select the lesson's subject, unit of study, grade level, and location for identifying content standards. Once the lesson is processed you will be asked to answer a couple of guiding questions. On the lesson report page you see 4-6 high priority lesson fixes. The fixes are only suggestions so use your best judgement when deciding what needs to be fixed. The "Ask AI" button allows use to pull up the chatbot and ask it questions about the lesson analysis item as well as suggestion for implimenting the fixes.

I am having trouble understanding the lesson analysis.

The lesson analysis is comprehensive so feeling a bit confused at first is normal. The lesson analysis is designed to highlight areas where your lesson may need more clarity, alignment, or support for students.

Start by focusing on the improvement items listed on the Fixes page. Look at the highlighted suggestions and ask, “Does this apply to my lesson?” You don’t need to revise everything, just adjust the parts that feel most relevant. If something feels unclear, try comparing the feedback to your objective. Is the objective measurable? Are students given enough guidance to reach it? The analysis is meant to sharpen your thinking, not overwhelm you.

Remember, the chatbot icon is located in the upper right corner of your screen. Feel free to ask the chatbot to clarify anything that seems confusing in the lesson analysis.

Farther down in the lesson analysis are Common Misconceptions and UDL Strategies. Teachers often find these helpful to ensuring all students are able to access the lesson before teaching it. This is a good time to consult the AI chatbot as mentioned earlier.

Finally, if you are still unsure, bring the analysis to your mentor and talk it through together. It’s a tool for reflection, not a scorecard.

Why am I not able to create a comment for my mentor?

Before you can create a comment for your mentor you need to send your mentor an invite and they need to accept the invitation to collaborate.

How do I send my mentor an invite to collaborate?

Before you can share evidence, your mentor needs to be connected to your account.

Step 1: Invite your mentor.

- Go to Settings
-
Click Teacher
-
Select Connect with Mentor
-
Enter your mentor’s email and send the invite

Your mentor will receive a notification to connect with you.

Step 2: Your mentor activates Mentor Mode
Your mentor should:

-Go to Settings
-
Click Mentor
-
Turn on Activate Mentor Mode and close the settings page.
-
Click the Mentor icon in the dashboard to view notifications.
-Accept your invite

Check your notifications to confirm your mentor has accepted your invite. Once accepted, you will both be connected and receive notifications when a comment is shared between you and your mentor. If you switch mentors go into your settings, delete the old mentor, and invite your new mentor.

How do I tag and share evidence with my mentor?

For evidence in Lesson Analysis:
-Find the share button in each of the lesson improvement items.
-Make a comment outlining your next steps for addressing the improvement item.
-Have your mentor check their dashboard for notifications and they will be able to view and comment on only the section you chose to share with them.

For evidence in Voice Coach
-Once you have a back and forth conversation with the voice coach go to the History tab.
-Click on the View Transcript icon.
-In the Transcript Viewer you will see share buttons at various points in your voice coach conversation.
-Pick a moment in the conversation to comment on your interaction and thinking about the problem of practice you are addressing.
-Have your mentor check their dashboard for notifications and they will be able to view and comment on only the section you chose to share with them.

What Problems Does Sunrise Solve?

I don't always know what to improve on my lesson.

Lesson analysis will give you 4-6 items to improve. You can ask the AI chatbot to clarify how to improve those items first.

Sometimes my mentor takes a couple of days to respond to email?

Sunrise is designed to be a just-in-time support layer when there is a delay in mentor response. This can help you get unstuck in the moment, but you should also defer to human judgement.
